02Australian domains
A .au domain has rules attached
Australian extensions are not simply bought. auDA sets eligibility conditions, and they are checked when you register and again every time you renew.
01
You need standing
An ABN, ACN, or Australian trade mark, and a domain that relates to your business name or what you actually sell.
02
It stays in your name
Registered to you, not to us. A provider holding your domain in their own name is a problem you only discover when you leave.
03
Expiry takes mail too
A lapsed domain stops your website and your email at the same time. Reminders and auto-renewal exist for that reason.
Need somewhere to point it? See cPanel hosting.

Optional automatic renewal and expiry reminders, so a lapsed domain never takes your site down.

Manage multiple domains from a single panel, useful for businesses with several brands.
04FAQ
Questions we get asked
- Who owns the domain?
- You do. It is registered in your name or your business's name, not ours. If you ever move to another provider we release it rather than making you fight for it.
- What do I need to register a .com.au?
- An ABN, ACN, or Australian trade mark, and the domain has to relate to your business name or what you sell. Those are auDA's eligibility rules, not ours, and they are checked at registration and again at renewal.
- Is WHOIS privacy included?
- Where the registry supports it, yes, at no extra cost. The .au registry is the exception: auDA publishes the registrant name by policy, though contact details are withheld. Nobody can offer full privacy on a .au domain.
- Can you transfer a domain I already have?
- Yes. You will need the authorisation code from your current provider and we handle the rest, confirming each step. Transfers do not take your site down when they are sequenced properly.
- What happens if it expires?
- We send reminders before expiry, and auto-renewal is available if you would rather not think about it. A lapsed domain is the fastest way to lose your website and your email at the same time.
- Do I have to host with you as well?
- No. The domain is yours and can point anywhere. Keeping it with the hosting simply means one place to call when mail or the site stops resolving.
