01What we do on site

The work that can't be done over a remote session

Most infrastructure work is remote until it isn't. When it needs a person standing in front of the rack, that's the part we cover.

    Servers, switches, firewalls, and UPS units mounted, patched, powered, labelled, and photographed before we leave.

    New hosts stood up to your build sheet: OS, roles, hardening, agents, monitoring, and backups, handed over ready for your team.

    Configuration and changes

    Firmware, BIOS, RAID, IP and VLAN changes, firewall rules, and switch config worked through from your runbook, inside your change window.

02What we work across

Windows, Unix, and virtualisation – not one of the three

A domain controller, a Linux box nobody has logged into for two years, and a Compose stack someone's contractor left behind. One site, three things, and they all need to be understood by the same person.

Windows Server

Active Directory, DNS and DHCP, file and print, Group Policy, Hyper-V, patching, and the failover clustering underneath it. Comfortable in domains that grew organically and were never documented.

Linux and Unix

Debian, Ubuntu, RHEL and derivatives: provisioning, users and permissions, systemd, networking, storage, SSH hardening, cron, logs, and the shell work that turns a two-hour job into a ten-minute one.

Virtualisation

Hypervisor hosts and the machines on them: VMs built and sized, storage and networking underneath, snapshots and backups that have actually been tested. Containerised workloads too – Compose stacks, volumes and persistence, reverse proxies and TLS, and the restart and logging policies that stop a container being a black box.

The same hands that rack the box can configure what runs on it. If the job ends in something that needs hosting or automating afterwards, that's the rest of what we do.

04How a job runs

Booked, briefed, done, documented

Perth metro is where most of our work happens, and every job runs the same way whether it is twenty minutes up the freeway or a flight away.

    Scope the job

    Site, access, gear, and the window it has to happen in. We tell you up front whether it's a job we will take, and what it will cost.

  2. 02

    Confirm the runbook

    We work to your steps, not our improvisation. Anything ambiguous gets asked before the day, not discovered at 2am in a comms room.

  3. 03

    Do the work on site

    We turn up with the tools, stay in contact with your engineer throughout, and stop and call if reality doesn't match the runbook.

  4. 04

    Report and hand back

    Photos, config as-left, serials, and anything we noticed that you'd want to know about. The ticket comes back closable.

We have worked on remote mining and civil sites and know how they run. Taken on a limited basis, with flights, inductions, and accommodation agreed before the date is locked in.

Regional and remote jobs are quoted at a day rate with travel, flights, and accommodation on top, and we take a limited number of them. A trip that costs two days of travel either side has to be worth it for both of us, so bring us the work that genuinely needs someone on the ground rather than the job that could have waited for a metro visit.

We hold a Construction Induction Card (White Card) and complete site-specific inductions as each site requires. Remote mining and civil sites are familiar ground: we know that access is booked weeks out, that comms are whatever the site gives you, and that a visit is usually one shot to get everything done.

Questions we get asked

Do you work under our brand?
Yes. For MSPs, vendors, and integrators that is the normal arrangement: your brand, your runbook, your change process, and your ticket updated. Your client need never know we were the ones holding the screwdriver.
Will you sign an NDA?
Yes, and we are happy to work to your standard subcontractor agreement rather than asking you to accept ours.
How do you charge?
Metro work is billed at published hourly rates with a per-job minimum. They're on our rates page, worked examples included. Regional and remote work is a day rate with travel, flights, and accommodation on top, agreed before the job is booked. Everything is quoted in writing first.
How much notice do you need?
For Perth metro, a few days is usually enough. Work inside a change window is best booked a week or two out so the runbook can be read properly beforehand, and remote sites need longer again because of access and travel.
What do we get when the job is done?
Photos, serial numbers, port and power assignments, config as-left, and notes on anything that differed from the plan – in whatever format your ticketing system wants, the same day.
Do you do structured cabling?
Not currently. We patch to existing infrastructure and manage cable inside the rack. Fixed cabling and terminations to the building network are licensed work and we currently refer them out.
